Stakeholder Representation

IREC provides a platform where the irrigator, the advisory officer and the research scientist can work as a team to identify and direct research and extension that is relevant and beneficial to irrigators of the Murrumbidgee Valley.

IREC is built on simple structure that brings together stakeholders in the irrigation industry and community, which has two components:

an Executive Committee to handle administrate matters and determine policy
a series of specialist subcommittees which are the powerhouse of IREC

A small executive and administrative team provides support to the Executive Committee and the subcommittees.

The IREC subcommittees have changed and evolved in response to various needs over the years. Current subcommittees are:

Irrigation Systems Subcommittee
Irrigated Farm Competition Subcommittee
Rice Research & Development Committee
MIA Fruit Fly Campaign Committee
Riverina Women in Agriculture
