Irrigation Research & Extension Committee projects

IREC currently has no active projects. This is mainly due to the current drought that has prevented most irrigation and agriculture from moving forward.

Many projects are funded through levies that growers contribute when they deliver crops, such as wheat or rice. With these crops being in short supply in recent years, research funds have also been depleted.

It is hoped that once the drought breaks and irrigators are back to full production, IREC can again kick-start its projects and ensure the continuation of the important research that has been vital to irrigation farming in the past.
